Scenic artist Bill Anderson (The Sound of Music), Oscar-nominated matte artist Harrison Ellenshaw (Tron) and set designer William J. Newmon II (Poltergeist), along with previously announced Emmy- and Oscar- winner production designer Patrizia von Brandenstein (Amadeus), will receive lifetime achievement honors at the 20th annual Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Awards. The ceremony is set to be held Jan. 31 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

Anderson's backgrounds and mural artistry can be seen in such films as Cleopatra, Fantastic Voyage and Hello, Dolly!, in addition to various Disney attractions around the world.

Harrison Ellenshaw (son of Oscar-winning matte designer Peter Ellenshaw) has a list of credits including Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and The Black Hole, which earned an Academy Award nomination for visual effects. He is also the first VFX supervisor to be credited in a film for 1982’s Tron.

Newmon, credited as the first African-American set designer in Hollywood, joined IATSE Local 847 in 1975. His credits include the films The Apple Dumpling Gang and The Shaggy D.A. as well as the TV series Starsky and Hutch and Little House on the Prairie.

As previously revealed, Von Brandenstein will be honored for her body of work, which includes Amadeus, for which she won an Oscar, Ragtime and The Untouchables.

Last year was the first time the ADG's Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to individuals in each of the guild’s four crafts: art directors; scenic, title and graphic artists; illustrators and matte artists; and set designers and model makers.
