Industry vet Geoff Mills has been promoted to managing director of postproduction technology developer SGO, whose Mistika post system has been used on projects including Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Hobbit trilogy and is installed at companies including J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post.

Mills joined Madrid-headquartered SGO in 2009 as director of sales, and soon after he was elevated to head the company's global sales and operations as group director. Prior to SGO, he was employed at postproduction technology developer Quantel (now Snell Advanced Media).

“Geoff has been instrumental in SGO's growth and we are proud to recognize his contributions to our success with this promotion,” said CEO Miguel Angel Doncel.

Mills related that he is looking forward to next month’s NAB Show to reveal further development of the Mistika high-end finishing system, which already includes high dynamic range, high resolution including 4K and high frame rate capabilities. “This only comes with dedication, hard work and having many great customers and partners — all of which makes SGO so special," he said.
