Chad Michael Murray, Abigail Spencer, Katee Sackhoff and Emily Alyn Lind will star in The Haunting in Georgia, Gold Circle Films' latest entry in its Haunting series.
The film shoots in Baton Rouge later this month with Tom Elkins in the director's chair. Lionsgate has domestic distribution rights and it selling international rights at AFM.
The four play the members of the real-life Wyrick family, beleaguered by ghosts and a terrifying mystery that haunts their new home.
Murray portrays Andy Wyrick, the blue collar, no-nonsense husband to Spencer's Lisa Wyrick, a young mother struggling with horrifying visions, a curse she shares with her wayward sister Joyce (Sackhoff) and now fears has been passed on to her young daughter Heidi (Lind). Cicely Tyson, who will next be seen in The Help, has also signed on.
Haunting in Georgia's predecessor, 2009's The Haunting in Connecticut, scared up the No. 1 spot at the box office on its opening weekend. Gold Circle saw it had the makings of a franchise on its hands and set about finding another true story it could tackle.
Georgia was written by David Coggeshall. Paul Brooks and Scott Niemeyer are producing. Gold Circle's Brad Kessell shepherded development and is co-producing, along with Jeff Levine.
Murray, repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, starred in the long-running series One Tree Hill.
Spencer, repped by ICM and Untitled Management, made a mark playing the love interest to Jon Hamm in Season 4 of Mad Men and will be seen in next year's big-budget tentpole Cowboys and Aliens.
Sackhoff, repped by Gersh and Bleu, is best known for playing Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica and currently appears on CSI.
Coast to Coast Talent-repped Lind appeared in The Secret Life of Bees and Enter the Void. She stars in the forthcoming Hallmark Hall of Fame movie November Christmas.
