Donations to 'Idol' Hopeful Chris Medina Top $27K
3:53 PM PST 2/16/2011 by Sofia M. Fernandez
American Idol hopeful Chris Medina has collected more than $27,000 in donations to help care for his fiancee, who suffered a brain injury in a car accident in 2009.
The money is primarily from individual contributions but also includes a $4,000 furnace donated and installed by King Heating & Air Conditioning of Oak Forest, Illinois, notes myFox Chicago. The company literally warmed up the couple's home after hearing that their heater was broken.
Donations for Medina's fiancee, Juliana Ramos, are being accepted through the Laurus Foundation website.
