President Obama took to radio personality Michael Yo's radio show over the weekend to discuss the most important issue on the minds of American voters -- and it wasn't the economy. The President of the United States took a strong stance on the feud between American Idol judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey.
"I think that they are going to be able to sort it out," Obama said. "I am confident."
Stevie Nicks regrets her rant against Nicki Minaj for allegedly threatening Mariah Carey on the set of American Idol.
If you haven't heard about Nicks' tirade, and are perhaps stupefied as to why the Fleetwood Mac icon would esconce herself in the middle of an alleged super-diva feud, then here's some background: when pressed for her opinion on the much-hyped rivalry between the newly minted Idol judges, Nicks publicly sided with Carey, a fellow music industry veteran.
With public reaction to nasty comments hurled by American Idol judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey at each other, show producers took the rare step of issuing a statement affirming its faith in the season 12 panel.
"This is one of the best, most passionate, dynamic and invested judging panels we've ever had," reads the comment attributed to Idol producers. "We love and support all of the judges and the fantastic work they are doing, and we can't imagine a better group to find the next American Idol."

The American Idol judges battle elevated to defcon one Thursday morning after Mariah Carey hurled a big accusation against panelist Nicki Minaj on The View.
Carey, who granted View host Barbara Walters a pre-show telephone interview prior to theshow's airing, revealed that several people oveheard Minaj say, "If I had a gun, I would shoot the b***h," following a squabble over a contestant in Charlotte, N.C.
It seems there's something to all those reports about Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey's contentious relationship after all.
The two American Idol judges were caught on video Tuesday engaged in a heated exchange during auditions for the Fox singing competition in Charlotte, N.C.
Mariah Carey's new stint as an American Idol judge officially began with Sunday's first season-12 auditions in New York, and so far, the Grammy-winning, butterfly-loving, mother-of-twins pop diva appears to be doling out the tough love.
"I try to be honest and I try to be constructive," Carey told THR on Wednesday night at a Peggy Siegal Company party for Penny Marshall's new book, My Mother Was Nuts, at Monkey Bar in midtown.
Almost immediately after Nicki Minaj joined Mariah Carey on the American Idol judges' panel, the gossip media mill began churning out headlines that the two divas were allegedly at each other's throats.
Randy Jackson's exit from the American Idol judges' table has been long rumored and now TMZ is calling it fact. Citing sources, the website says that Jackson, the only Idol cast member other than host Ryan Seacrest to have an on-air role since season one, will transition to a mentor role in season 12.

When you think of Cash Money Records, the likes of Lil Wayne, Drake, Jay Sean and Nicki Minaj come to mind along with the label's irrefutable influence on hip-hop. But to American Idol season six finalist Chris Richardson, it simply represents home.
Nicki Minaj is closing in on a rich deal to join American Idol as a judge for season 12, a source close to the Fox show tells The Hollywood Reporter. In addition, country star Keith Urban is nearing his own deal to join the panel.
Minaj and Urban have been in talks for weeks with Idol producers Fox, FremantleMedia and CORE Media Group's 19 Entertainment. THR first revealed last Friday that Idol wanted Minaj but the flamboyant rapper's Pepsi sponsorship was irking Idol partner Coke. Those issues apparently have been worked out, and Minaj will receive about $8 million to join the show with additional allowances for wardrobe, hair and makeup. Minaj could sign on the dotted line as soon as today or early next week, adds the source.
