ABC Family gives 'Melissa & Joey' full season

The ABC Family programming news marathon continues: The network has renewed freshman comedy "Melissa & Joey."

The network is ordering an additional 20 episodes of the show, which will be tacked on to the show's current 10-episode first season.

The comedy stars Melissa Joan Hart as a local politician and Joey Lawrence as her kids' "manny."

The series has averaged 1.7 million viewers since launching in August -- very strong viewership for an original comedy on ABC Family.

Previously, the network canceled "Huge," renewed "Pretty Little Liars" and earlier today made a pilot pickup.
