A&E's 'The Glades' gets solid start
A&E's "The Glades" got off to a pretty solid launch Sunday evening, bringing in 3.6 million viewers.
The network's effort to join the breezy summer crime procedural club made that's been made so appealingly popular by TNT and USA didn't quite reach the level of a, say, "Royal Pains" (whose recent premiere drew 5.8 million), or even a "Memphis Beat" (4.3 million).
Still, this is the most-watched drama series telecast in the network's history.
"We are very encouraged by the response that ‘The Glades’ has received from the press and our viewers," said Bob DeBitetto, president & GM of A&E. "The fact that the series was able to break through in a crowded summer landscape against heavy competition is a testament to the quality of the show and the incredible talent and performance of the show’s lead Matt Passmore."
