CBS developing 'Undercover Boss' companion series
Exclu: CBS is developing a companion series to the biggest new unscripted show in years.
The makers of "Undercover Boss" have landed a pilot order for another corporate reality show at CBS.
The untitled project from "Boss" producer Studio Lambert will feature two employees who work at the same company competing against one another for a major promotion.
Like "Boss," the project has standalone episodes going behind the scenes at major U.S. companies cooperating with the production.
Unlike "Boss," the as-yet-untitled new show adds a competitive element (which often fuels most broadcast reality shows), and doesn’t require the undercover approach.
The Emmy-nominated "Boss" was launched after the Super Bowl and became last season’s highest-rated new series. It returns on Sunday nights this fall on CBS. The network had no comment.
