Fall TV Twitter buzz: 'The Event,' 'My Dad Says' tops
A Tweet is not "The Event." But it could help stir interest in NBC's new show.
Coming off broadcast upfront presentations, action-drama "The Event," CBS' controversially titled "$#*! My Dad Says" and The CW's two youth-targeted hour-longs are generating plenty of Twitter buzz.
Measurement company Trendrr has clocked 4,667 Tweets for "The Event," 3,211 for "$#*! My Dad Says"* and 2,850 for The CW's "Hellcats."
Full results below.
Other new shows generating some social media interest: The CW's "Nikita" (2,659 Tweets) ABC's "My Generation" (1,488), NBC's "Outlaw" (1,863). At the bottom of the list: NBC's "Chase" (25 Tweets) and ABC's "Detroit
1-8-7" (32 Tweets).
This study requested by Live Feed measured Tweets from last Wednesday through Monday and provides a rough and early look at which titles are generating some
social media buzz. Networks that held their presentations early in the week (such as NBC and Fox) may be at a disadvantage since titles presumably receive a social media pop right during their network's upfront media blitz. But clearly "The Event" was able to rise to the top despite being announced on Sunday and overall rankings have stayed pretty consistent since
upfronts ended.
On THR's Fall TV Preview Player, NBC's "Undercovers" trailer is getting the most views, followed by CBS' "Hawaii Five-O" opening credits, ABC's "Mr. Sunshine" clip, CBS' "$#*! My Dad Says" behind-the-scenes video and NBC's "The Event" trailer.
