Fox near deal for new Ryan Murphy drama
6:29 AM PST 11/30/2010 by James Hibberd
Two showrunner powerhouses -- "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy and "24" executive producer Howard Gordon -- are teaming for new procedural TV drama.
The Emmy-winning duo are near a deal at Fox for a put pilot order on an as-yet-untitled project.
Though story details are scarce, the 20th Century Fox TV project is being called a high-concept character-driven supernatural procedural about a psychiatrist that deals with people facing their worst fears and phobias. Though each week will deal with a different case, the show will not necessarily be a crime drama.
Murphy and Gordon will write and executive produce the series together. A deal with Fox is not complete, yet given the auspices behind the project, sources say a pilot order is likely.
