'Glee' Post-Super Bowl Episode Top Scripted Telecast in Three Years
So how did Glee's highly-publicized post-Super Bowl episode do?
According to fast nationals, Glee was watched by 26.8 million total viewers and had a 11.1 rating in the all-important 18-49 demo. This obviously made it the best-performing Glee episode to date in both categories. (The episode aired on Fox from 10:39-11:45 p.m. ET.)
Last night's episode, which opened with a Cheerios routine to Katy Perry's summer anthem "California Gurls" and featured a "Thriller"/"Heads Will Roll" mashup at a football halftime show, was the highest-rated scripted series telecast on broadcast in three years. But, Glee barely topped 2009's The Office's post-Super Bowl episode in the demo (11.1 vs. 11.0).

Though the post-Super Bowl Glee outperformed its average in total viewership (duh), its total tune-in numbers aren't as impressive as say, last year's Undercover Boss, which drew 38.6 million.
To compare with past lead-out programming, the lowest-performing telecast in recent memory was ABC's Alias, drawing less than 18 million viewers after Super Bowl XXXVII.
This year's Green Bay Packers-Pittsburgh Steelers matchup ties the highest overnight rating with the 1987 Super Bowl.
