NBC Picks Up Stephen Gaghan's 'S.I.L.A.'
NBC has picked up a pilot from Stephen Gaghan.
S.I.L.A. (Special Investigations L.A.) is a complex drama in the vein of Traffic, set in the world of crime, law enforcement and politics in modern-day Los Angeles.
Gaghan, who penned Syriana and won an Oscar for Traffic, wrote the script and will direct, in addition to serving as executive producer. Peter Chernin and Katherine Pope will executive produce through their Chernin Entertainment in association with 20th TV.
Chernin and Pope have several pilots that have been ordered so far this season -- most of them at Fox -- including an untitled Liz Meriwether comedy and Heroes creator Tim Kring's Touch.
Gaghan began his career in television (NYPD Blue, The Practice) before jumping to the feature films.
