1:03 PM PST 3/1/2011 by Marisa Guthrie
The actress will play a mom who has relied on her own mother to take care of her children.
Jenna Elfman has closed a deal to headline the ABC pilot Bad Mom.
The single-camera comedy — from ABC Studios and Kapital Entertainment — revolves around mom who has relied on her own mother to take care of her kids. When her mother decides to get her life back, she’s left to become the sole caregiver.
The comedy is from Irish actress/writer Sharon Horgan (who can be seen in IFC’s The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret). Horgan and Aaron Kaplan (Knowing, Made of Honor) are executive producers.
Elfman recently starred in CBS sitcom Accidentally on Purpose. She is repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment.
