ABC’s Revenge finally revealed the truth of what (and whom) went down on the beach in its series pilot on Wednesday’s episode. Was it who you expected?

The Fire and Ice Ball is finally here. Fans have been waiting with much anticipation to find out whether it was really Daniel (Joshua Bowman) who died on the beach during the series pilot for ABC’s Revenge.
When viewers first met the socially awkward, though snappy dressing Nolan Ross on ABC’s freshman drama, Revenge, many didn’t know what to make of him. Since then, the character has become pivotal to Emily’s (Emily VanCamp) plans and a fan favorite. No one seems more surprised by that development than the actor who plays Nolan, Emily’s closest confidante (if such a thing exists).
There’s just one episode standing between fans and Revenge’s big story reveal that has been haunting viewers since the pilot: Who dies on the beach during Emily (Emily VanCamp) and Daniel’s (Josh Bowman) Fire and Ice engagement party?
Well, here’s a good reason for Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) to hire a new divorce attorney (played by Law & Order’s Courtney B. Vance as THR reported on Thursday).
Writer and executive producer Mike Kelley has been around the soapy TV block -- his credits include Swingtown, The O.C., and One Tree Hill. Yet as the head of ABC’s new hit drama, Revenge, the showrunner admits that plotting the series has been tougher than he expected.
Revenge returned from the midseason hiatus only to remind viewers why we tune in to the freshman series’ soapy goodness. In Episode 11, it dispensed of Tyler (Ashton Holmes), Daniel’s (Joshua Bowman) manipulative college friend who went off his meds and off the rails.
It’s understandable. With all the new offerings in the fall season, sometimes you discover you love a show a bit late. If ABC’s sudsy drama, Revenge, or its addictive fairy tale meets modern times series, Once Upon a Time, fall into that category for you, then get excited.
