Showtime renews 'Diary of a Call Girl' for final season
Exclu: Showtime is signing up for a fourth -- and final -- season of "Secret Diary of a Call Girl."
The premium cable network will run another round of the UK-based comedy series, which chronicles the adventures of a British escort played by Billie Piper. The season will be the last for the show, whose fate on both shores has been uncertain in recent weeks.
Season four includes eight, half-hour episodes continuing the story of "Belle," a writer torn between her secret career and her feelings for her best friend, Ben.
Recently Piper told The Sun newspaper that the show might be winding down and could live on as a feature film.
"Diary" is produced by IMG/Tiger Aspect/Silverapples Media/ ARG production; executive produced by Michael Foster, Billie Piper and Andrew Zein. The series will likely return early next year.
