Summit to Give 'A Better Life' a June Release

The Chris Weitz-directed family drama will get a limited theatrical opening.

Summit Entertainment has given director Chris Weitz's new drama A Better Life a June 24 limited theatrical release date.

The family drama written by Eric Eason will serve as summer counter-programing to Disney/Pixar's Cars 2 and Sony's raunchy comedy Bad Teacher.

A Better Life follows an East L.A. gardener trying to create a promising future for his son.

Summit has the Jodie Foster-directed drama The Beaver opening in May, the sci-fi thriller The Darkest Hour opening in August and the Seth Rogen comedy 50/50 hitting theaters in late September.
