IFC Films has acquired North American rights to Sleepwalk With Me, the Sundance Film Festival movie from comedian Mike Birbiglia. The company also acquired rights to the film in several other territories.
Birbiglia directed and stars in the movie based on his own experiences as a comedian whose life is upended by dangerous bouts of sleepwalking. He also co-wrote and produced it with Ira Glass, host of Chicago Public Media’s public radio show This American Life, to which Birbiglia contributes.
Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired North American rights to Sundance comedy Hello I Must Be Going. The film will have a theatrical release this year.
The Other Dream Team, a sports/politics documentary about the Lithuanian basketball team that competed at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games, is selling to Film Arcade and Lionsgate. The deal for North American rights is not yet finalized but is expected to be in the mid-six figures range. The film will receive a theatrical release.
