Stephen King Blocked by Trump's Twitter Account
Author Stephen King on Tuesday said on Twitter that President Donald Trump had blocked him from his personal account on the site.
Trump has blocked me from reading his tweets. I may have to kill myself.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) June 13, 2017
King has long been a prolific critic of the president on Twitter. For example, he tweeted this just a few hours before Trump blocked him:
Trump's cabinet offers a postgraduate-level course in ass-kissing.— Stephen King (@StephenKing) June 13, 2017
And this a few days before:
After listening to Comey today and Trump for last 4 and a half months, I have a clear opinion on which one is the actual "nut job."— Stephen King (@StephenKing) June 8, 2017
And there are many, many others.
But just a few minutes later on Tuesday, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling jumped in on Twitter to say she had the horror king's back:
I still have access. I'll DM them to you. https://t.co/MhibEYDBTg— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 13, 2017
The move comes at a time when Trump appears to have blocked numerous others, including a VoteVets, a veterans advocacy group and critics Jordan Uhl and Brandon Neely.
White House social media director Dan Scavino did not respond to a request for comment about the blocks. Trump has created so much activity on Twitter that the service is having trouble handling all the @ replies his tweets receive.
