Before opening his interior design firm in 2005, Oliver M. Furth trained in Los Angeles and New York, under some of the most esteemed designers in the business; he attended architecture school, and studied art history. Early in his career, Oliver worked for Christies Auction house in their 20th Century Decorative Arts department.
Oliver is often published online and in print, and his design projects have received accolades from across his field, including inHouse & Garden, House Beautiful, The Wall Street Journal, Daily Candy, The Los Angeles Times, The Huffington Post, C. Magazine, andTraditional Home who called him one of the ‘20 top youngdesigners’ in the country. In 2010, Elle Décor named Oliver to their A-List, as one of ‘Five Young Designers to Watch’!
A native Los-Angelino and fourth generation Californian, Oliver is a fixture in his city’s Design and Cultural communities. In addition to his design work, he consults for The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, heading their Decorative Arts and Design Council. He also serves on the curator’s council at LA><ART foundation, and is an active member of the Institute of Classical Architecture.
With a highly refined eye and his extensive design training, Oliver shops the globe, always on the lookout for the fine and the offbeat, the eccentric and the extraordinary. He is extremely passionate about design and the design industry at large. Oliver is delighted to be participating in The Hollywood Reporter Showcase House.
