Animal Collective Postpones North American Tour Dates
Concerts across the U.S. during the week of March 17-24 were cancelled.
Experimental indie group Animal Collective has postponed multiple North American tour dates due to illness.
Founding member Avey Tare said in a statement that while it "kills me" to reschedule, because of "an intense case of strep throat, I am unable to play any of these shows."
Tour dates during the week of March 17-24 -- including stops in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Colorado, Utah and Idaho -- have all been postponed.
"Unfortunately, I wasn't diagnosed soon enough and haven't been able to kick this in the right amount of time," Tare wrote in the statement. "We promise you all that we are doing everything we can to reschedule all these shows ASAP, and we will be visiting your cities. We hope you can all understand and sympathize with the situation."
The list of postponed tour dates is below:
3/17: Madison, Wis. @ Orpheum Theatre
3/18: Minneapolis, Minn. @ First Avenue
3/20: St. Louis, Mo. @ The Pageant
3/21: Kansas City, Mo. @ Midland Theater
3/22: Denver, Colo. @ Ogden Theatre
