Beach House Confirms New Album, 2012 Tour (Audio)
Following 2010's acclaimed "Teen Dream," the duo are set to release "Bloom" on May 15.
It's a big week for fans of Beach House.
Less than 24 hours after releasing a new track, "Myth," on their official website, the Baltimore-based duo confirmed their fourth studio recording will be out this spring.
Bloom arrives via Sub Pop on May 15 in the U.S. and Canada. The 10-track album, a follow-up to 2010's breakout Teen Dream, will also send the band on a small U.S. tour before they head to Europe over the summer.
Speaking with Fact Magazine, frontman Alex Scally calls the effort "a huge crystal, spinning in a cave with Star Wars figurines.”
Bandmate Victoria Legrand’s description is a bit less bizarre, citing death and loss of innocence as themes. "As we’ve got older and evolved, it’s normal that there would be darker themes," she said. "But there’s lightness. It’s not all dark."
