Britney Spears, NASA's Mars Rover Exchange Tweets About 'Oops!… I Did It Again' Video
In her 2000 clip, the pop star danced around the red planet in a matching leather jumpsuit.
Britney Spears still has a fan on Mars.
The pop star and newly minted X Factor judge took a walk down memory lane this week, tweeting a link to her red planet-set "Oops!… I Did It Again" music video and asking NASA's Mars rover, "So @MarsCuriosity… does Mars look the same as it did in 2000?"

Surprisingly enough, the official Curiosity Twitter account responded in kind with a pop culture-savvy quip: "Hey Brit Brit. Mars is still looking good. Maybe someday an astronaut will bring me a gift, too. Drill bits crossed ;)"
Who knew interplanetary travelers also had sense of pop music humor? At the time of publication, the comment had received 3,451 retweets.

In the infamous clip, Spears dons a red leather jumpsuit as she dances around Mars, breaking the heart of a gift-bearing suitor. Filmed three years after the release of James Cameron's Titanic, the song and clip take a cue from Kate Winslet with Spears' wannabe boyfriend proclaiming that he retrieved the Heart of the Ocean diamond from the bottom of the sea for her.
"Aw, you shouldn't have," Spears teases before launching back into the chorus. "Oops, I did it again to your heart. Got lost in this game, oh baby. Oops, you think that I'm sent from above. I'm not that innocent."
