Lady Gaga, Cher, Snoop Dogg, Adam Levine Among Musicians Tweeting Election Elation
The music industry played a key role in Barack Obama’s re-election, and its stars are showing their devotion -- and relief -- on social media.
Musicians played a key role in Barack Obama’s re-election, with some hitting the campaign trail (Bruce Springsteen, Jay-Z), others performing at stump stops (Katy Perry, Jason Mraz, Foo Fighters) and many more endorsing the president via video pleas, tweets, radio ads, onstage banter and letters, among them: Barbra Streisand, Beyonce, Cher, Madonna, will.i.am, Pras, John Legend and Snoop Dogg.
So what did the hitmakers have to say as the 2012 election results came in? We scanned Twitter and found a wide swath of reactions, from elation to humility, pride to worry, not to mention scores of Instagram photos of stars doing their civic duty.
