If there’s anything hip-hop superstar Flo Rida is lacking, it’s certainly not confidence.

But the rapper, singer and songwriter behind this year’s summer anthem, “Wild Ones,” as well as “Low,” “In the Ayer,” “Elevator,” “Right Round,” “Club Can’t Handle Me,” “Good Feeling” and more has earned his place in the Top 40 hall of fame, with his voice heard almost constantly on pop radio.

On Tuesday, July 3, Flo Rida debuted his fourth studio album via Atlantic Records titled Wild Ones. The album received lukewarm reviews at best, but has already launched two smash hit singles ahead of its release.

“The other records are definitely going to be No. 1 records,” Flo Rida, nee Tramar Dillard, told The Hollywood Reporter at the BET Awards on Sunday. Charting expectations aside, the 32-year-old said that the overall theme of the album was “positive lyricism.”

Walking the carpet with model girlfriend Melyssa Ford, Flo shared his (unsurprising) secrets to success.

“Just stayin’ in the studio. Sometimes [I] don’t even come out,” he said. “Never change clothes. Just being a perfectionist.”

Ford backed up her man, adding: “He’s one of the most dedicated, hardest working people I’ve ever met. His work ethic is so incredible, he makes me a better woman just watching him.”

Flo Rida’s latest endeavor features guest vocals from Georgi Kay (“In My Mind, Pt 2”), Jennifer Lopez (“Sweet Spot”) and LMFAO (“Run”). The lead single, “Good Feeling,” samples Avicii’s “Levels,” which in turn features Etta James’ 1962 track “Something’s Got a Hold on Me.” Following her death in January, Flo dedicated the song to her memory.

“It was an honor to work with the late, great Ms. Etta James on that record,” he recalled during THR’s interview.

Flo Rida was scheduled to appear alongside B.o.B and Cee Lo Green for the R U on the List tour, but canceled the July 8 Los Angeles performance without explanation. A rep for the artist did not immediately return The Hollywood Reporter's request for comment.
