'Glee' Helps The Wanted On Their Way With Their "Glad You Came" Cover (Video)
Just weeks after Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun started broadcasting love for the U.K. quintet, their single shows up on Fox's hit show.
Just weeks after news came that Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun was eager to work with London-based boy band The Wanted, the quintet’s music is already making high-profile stateside appearances. On Monday night’s episode of Glee, “On My Way” (check out our expert recap here), The Warblers cover the group’s song “Glad You Came.”

The Wanted certainly isn’t the first group to get a bump from the show; after fun.’s “We Are Young” debuted on Glee in December, the song shot up the iTunes charts before landing choice placement in a Super Bowl ad by Chevy. But Braun’s recent publicity deluge via Twitter is clearly starting to pay off for the group in the U.S., bolstering anticipation for the domestic release of their second album, Battleground, which was released in the U.K. on Nov. 7 of last year.
Whether The Wanted becomes a stateside phenomenon on the scale of Justin Bieber, much less American boy bands like N’Sync or the Backstreet Boys, remains to be seen. But Lily Allen and the late Amy Winehouse were just two artists whose U.K. output was merely a prelude to international success, and neither had an expert salesman like Braun backing them up.
“Glad You Came” currently rests at #11 on the iTunes charts. Check out a clip of The Warblers' performance below.
