Rufus Wainwright drops his seventh studio album, Out of the Game, on May 1, and the video for its lead single finds him hanging out in a library with Helena Bonham Carter.

"Out of the Game" hit the web on Tuesday. One part Portlandia skit and two parts Broadway musical montage, it follows Carter's frustrated librarian lip-syncing Wainwright's lyrics while the singer -- playing three different characters -- desecrates her place of work in various ways.

Over the course of the clip, Carter is so inspired by what's happening around her that she succumbs to desire.

As for the roots of the collaboration, Wainwright told The Sun that they've been friends for some time.

"Not only is she very beautiful, very glamorous, but she is also incredibly funny," he said. "At the end of the video, she is basically wearing a bra. So I very much appreciate her friendship for furthering my career."

Out of the Game marks Wainwright's first album and two years. It was produced by British producer Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen) and finds the singer embracing a more poppy sound than previous efforts.
