Joan Rivers and Rihanna Spar Over Twitter
But the comedian's "Fashion Police" co-star Kelly Osbourne comes to her defense.
An unlikely celebrity feud has erupted in the social media wilds, one spanning the far reaches of the generational spectrum: Yes, the Joan Rivers vs. Rihanna Twitter Feud is upon us.
It began with a tweet issued on Friday by Rivers, in which the Fashion Police star wrote, "Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it's MY turn to slap her."

Rivers was referencing a recent interview with Winfrey in which Rihanna admitted to still harboring feelings for Brown, at whose hands the pop star famously suffered physical abuse.
To which Rihanna replied: "@Joan_Rivers wow u really do get slow when you're old huh?"
Not one to let anyone else get the last word, Rivers then tweeted, "Honey, @Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he’ll hit you again. Read the statistics. PS – Love to have you on Fashion Police!"
Rihanna, not surprisingly, has yet to take her up on the offer -- though she will appear at the MTV Video Music Awards, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 6.
But just when this feud looked to be over, Kelly Osbourne came along to stir things up again, tweeting her support on Tuesday of her Fashion Police co-star: "W/ the greatest of respect 2 a young lady of whom I love please get a sense of humor @Joan_Rivers paved the way 4 all us opinionated ladies!"
