Jonas Brothers Call It Quits
The band is breaking up "for now," after canceling their tour due to a "deep, creative rift" among group members.
The Jonas Brothers are disbanding -- for now.
After canceling their tour due to a "deep, creative rift" among band members, the brothers are calling it quits as a group, a source confirms to The Hollywood Reporter.
But the split appears to be amicable, with all three guys and their significant others having dinner together at STK in New York on Monday night, the source adds.
The group will be on Good Morning America on Wednesday to discuss the breakup.
"It's over for now," Kevin Jonas told People, which first reported that the group was disbanding, with Joe Jonas adding that "it was a unanimous decision."
But this breakup may not be for good.
"It's really hard to say 'forever,' " Nick Jonas told People. "We're closing a chapter, for sure."
The decision to disband came after an Oct. 3 meeting in which Nick told his brothers he had serious concerns about the future of the band, People reported.
Earlier this month, the trio scrapped plans for a nationwide tour, with the band's rep citing a "deep, creative rift." The group's official Twitter account disappeared the following week.

Sources previously told THR that disagreements among the brothers became clear during a meeting to discuss their long-anticipated fifth album.
"Once they realized they couldn't agree on music, it became a question of, 'Why would we want to go out on tour right now?' Their thought process was to get everything straight in terms of the creative. It was not a small thing [to call off the tour]," said the source.
Just last week, though, it seemed as if the brothers were resolving their differences, with Nick and Joe breaking their silence and urging fans to be patient.
"Bear with us," Nick tweeted last Tuesday, while Joe wrote: "Please hold while we get our shit together."
The multiplatinum group was once a teen hit machine with its own TV shows, movies, a concert documentary and multiple tours but has fallen off the radar in recent years, with Kevin starring in E!'s Married to Jonas and Nick pursuing an acting career.
