Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy has broken his foot and the alt-rock band has canceled tour dates as he recovers.

The band said in a statement posted on their website that they canceled the tour dates rather than having Bellamy use crutches on stage. "The band have therefore made the difficult decision to cancel these gigs as they feel that they will not be able to do justice to their live show and the fans who have bought tickets with Matt performing on crutches," the statement read (via MTV News).
On Twitter, Bellamy posted an X-ray photo of a foot and a picture of himself on crutches and his foot in a brace with the note, "On crutches for a while."
Muse announced refunds for shows on Dec. 5 in Oslo, Dec. 6 in Stockholm and Dec. 7 in Malmo. Other tour dates, the statement said, "are still scheduled to go ahead as planned." Concerts on Dec. 10 in Finland, Dec. 11 in Estonia and Dec. 13 in Latvia are still listed on the band's website as scheduled.
