Nicki Minaj to Perform at NBA All-Star Game
Mary J. Blige will sing the national anthem at the Feb. 26 game.
Nicki Minaj, who appeared in Madonna’s halftime show during the Super Bowl, will get to spend a little more time with some of the best athletes in the country, but this time it’ll be NBA players.
The “Super Bass” singer will perform before the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 26 in Orlando, Florida. She’ll open the show by singing a medley of her hits as the players’ names are announced, according to the AP.
Minaj, who released her new single “Starships” on Tuesday, won’t be the only entertainer on the court that night. Mary J. Blige will sing the national anthem, and Pitbull will perform the halftime show with Ne-Yo and Nayer.
On February 25, Will.i.am and Flo Rida are expected to perform at the All-Star pre-game events. The Voice’s season one winner Javier Colon is also slated to perform that day.
Celebrities will not only be performing, but they’ll have a chance to show off their skills on the court in the All-Star celebrity game on February 24. Common, Ne-Yo, Kevin Hart and Jersey Shore’s Vinny Guadagnino will be among the stars playing in the game. 2012 NBA All-Stars, Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard and Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant will serve as the East and West team coaches, respectively. For the eighth straight year, ESPN will televise the star-studded game beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
