One Direction Sells Out Tour; Announces 2013 Summer Dates
Tickets to the British boy band's May and June stops were scooped up, prompting a second tour next year.
One Direction, the world's hottest boy band, have sold out their entire May/June tour, as well as their December 3 show at Madison Square Garden. The MSG show sold out in ten minutes.
"Our fans are simply the best in the world. The support they have shown us has been incredible and we're all so grateful to each and every one of them. We can't wait to see everyone this summer, at Madison Square Garden and of course when we play our world tour in 2013," vocalist Niall Horan remarked in a recent statement.

The band, comprised of UK natives Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Irish born Horan, first caught the attention of viewers tuning into X-Factor UK, where the young men -- who had performed as solo artists-- joined forces per the request of judge Simon Cowell.
Their debut album, Up All Night has reached No. 1 in the charts in 14 countries, including the US Billboard 200, and has gone triple platinum in Ireland and double platinum in the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. The band has already announced the dates for their 2013 tour, which will kick off in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on June 13, 2013.
Tickets will go on sale on Live Nation and Ticket Master on Saturday, April 21.
