The rapper officially made the trip to Kodiak after an Internet campaign went viral.
Mr. Worldwide is officially earning his title.
The Miami-based rapper officially made his way up north – way north – to Kodiak, Alaska, after an Internet campaign to “exile” him went viral. “I am honored, truly,” Pitbull tweeted on Monday after visiting with local fans at a Walmart in the small town (population: 6,130).

On hand for the festivities was Boston Phoenix writer David Thorpe, who is responsible for starting a Twitter campaign to push Pitbull to the most obscure part of the world possible, after the “Give Me Everything” rapper promised to visit the Walmart with the most “likes” on Facebook. The promotion was part of Pitbull’s endorsement for Sheets energy strips.
“Pitbull just shouted me out in front of like… HUNDREDS of people,” Thorpe tweeted as Pitbull addressed the crowd. Happy to take a joke, Pitbull responded, “’Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. ‘Sun-tzu ;).”

During his stay, Pitbull was reportedly gifted with a classic Kodiak care package, including bear repellant and bear bells, which are used by hikers to scare off timid bears in the wilderness. Pitbull also apparently made some new friends, posing with a local infant and a large stuffed bear, as documented via Twitter.
Currently in the midst of a worldwide tour, Mr. Worldwide is next set to perform in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday, July 31.
