It's pretty hard to top Katy Perry in the outrageous hair color department. She's been seen in red, green, blond and purple (most are probably wigs) locks and every color has been flattering. Last night she sported hot pink ar the AMAs where she picked up a surprise Special Acheivement Award. But American Idol alum Adam Lambert and British singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding gave it their best shot.
Perry's cotton candy bouffant was first accessorized with what looked like a wreath of plastic flowers or butterflies. She changed her 'do slightly for the show, rolling it into a '40s style that suited her padded shoulder gown. She had another costume change into a sparkly corset and a (very) sheer black skirt. Strangely MIA on Perry's big night? Husband Russell Brand.
Lambert hit the black hair dye bottle pretty hard to make his towering gelled do stand out in the crowd. And Goulding wore the trendy retirement age gray hue that was first popularized by models on designer runways and has been copied by the likes of Lady Gaga, Kate Moss and Kelly Osbourne.
So whose hair color was hotter? You decide.
