Amy Winehouse's Father Calls Jean Paul Gaultier's Couture Tribute To Singer 'Bad Taste' (Poll)

Jean Paul Gaultier's 2012 Spring couture collection was shown in Paris this week. Style scribes raved about the funky colorful show featuring models wearing huge brightly-hued beehive wigs, cat eyeliner, chain smoking cigarettes and tottering on platform heels, all garbed in 50’s costumes - pencil skirts and corset dresses -- inspired by the late soul singer Amy Winehouse.

Gaulter called it his ode to Amy: 'She was an icon of fashion and truly, the sense of how she mixed the clothes - it was great.'

But the singer’s taxi driver dad Mitch Winehouse has slammed Gaultier, tweeting this week, "We don't support the Jean Paul Gaultier collection. It's in bad taste.'   And considering that the show was just two days after the six month anniversary of her death at age 27, he may have a point. Amy died on July 23, 2011, after battling drink and drugs for many years.

Mitch told a British paper: "The family was upset to see those pictures, they were a total shock.  We're still grieving for her loss, and we've had a difficult week with the six-month anniversary." He is also annoyed that her image had been used 'to sell clothes', and that no one from Gaultier offered to make a donation to The Amy Winehouse Foundation that helps people vulnerable to drink and drugs.
