Angelina Jolie's white satin strapless Golden Globes gown was adored by some red carpet watchers but deemed a bit too structured and austere by others. If she read the criticism, that may explain why she loosed up considerably and let her hair down for the Producers Guild Awards on Saturday  (Jan. 21).

Angelina received the prestigious Stanley Kramer Award for her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey.  After accepting the award from Morgan Freeman, Jolie, 36, told the audience how thrilled she was to receive the honor.

"What I hope is that our film helps people not forget the past," said Jolie, whose Bosnian war drama explores the horrific violence endured by the people of Sarajevo. "I want people to see what these people have gone through and that they are able to tell their story through their bravery. Their story matters."

For the big occasion, Angelina wore a very sexy Michael Kors black  stretch wool crepe long-sleeved gown with lace detail from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection. She finished off her look with Ferragamo shoes and Robert Procop jewels. 

But it was her exit view that drew the most attention: a sheer black lace back.
