Anne Hathaway Reveals 'Les Miserables' Diet: 'Radishes and Hummus'
The actress has also lost weight for "The Devil Wears Prada" and to fit into her Catwoman suit in "Dark Knight Rises," which she described as "a psychological terrorist."
Anne Hathaway knows all about being a starving artist.
For a year, she dieted and practically lived in the gym get super hero fit for her Catwoman suit, worn in the upcoming Batman finale, The Dark Knight Rises. Then she had to lose even more weight and shave her head for her role as Fantine in the upcoming Les Miserables.

"[The suit] was a psychological terrorist," she tells Allure. "The suit, thoughts of my suit, changing my life so I would fit into that suit.... It dominated my year." She adds, "I didn't understand how you could be thin and strong. I went into the gym for ten months and didn't come out."
Anne's outfit has gotten some flack for straying from the original design. But apparently, there’s more to the suit than meets the eye. "If you didn't like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do," she told MTV last year.
This isn't the first time weight has been an inssue for Hathaway. The actress, who used to be a size 6 or-- on a skinny jean day -- a size 4, obeyed the producers' orders to gain 10 lbs to prepare for her role in The Devil Wears Prada . But then she met with TDWP costume designer Patricia Fields who told her to lose it all so she could fit into haute couture.
Not that Hathaway has had any trouble fitting into couture lately. Styled by the expert hands of Rachel Zoe, she's regularly seen wearing couture from Valentino, Givenchy and Lanvin to Vivienne Westwood and Oscar de la Renta as well as Tom Ford, Versace and Stella McCartney.

As for her Les Mis deprivation and detox diet, she jokes to Allure, "I'm doing some crazy weight stuff right now. I’m on day six of detox... this diet makes me break out, so I love that. Nothing like living on hummus and radishes and then be all, 'And I got a pimple. Yeah!'"
For heaven's sake, Hathaway's agents. Find this young woman a role that will allow her to eat normally.
