Balenciaga Designer Nicolas Ghesquiere Visits Los Angeles This Week

Nicolas Ghesquiere of Balenciaga is one of the world’s most revered fashion designers out of Paris – and his fashion forward looks on the Paris runways are often copied, imitated, or just paid homage to, by other designers. He just showed his groundbreaking spring 2012 collection in Paris two weeks ago. The New York Times' gave it a pretty amazing write up, since Ghesquiere rather reinvented the jacket in featherweight light fabrics.

The enigmatic Ghesquiere will be seen in major Hollywood hot spots this week – Tuesday night October 18 at a large dinner party at the Chateau Marmont, then at Sunset Tower’s Tower Bar on Wednesday night October 19, with Katherine Ross, who is the L.A. Balenciaga advisor, and her husband Michael Govan, who heads up LACMA. Ghesquiere is in town to confab with his L.A. studio and team; their offices are at the Balenciaga store on Melrose near the Pacific Design Center.

However, we would not be surprised if he weren’t also here meeting Hollywood stylists and brewing up some amazing looks for actresses for awards season.
