As of late, it seems that nothing can stop the juggernaut that is Gwyneth Paltrow. She was just named People's Most Beautiful Woman, had a massive international opening for Iron Man 3 and managed to kill it in a racy, sheer-panel Antonio Berardi gown at the film's premiere despite, uh, needing to groom her lady parts before putting on the dress.
Now, Goop — her 5 1/2 year-old lifestyle website — has launched a limited-edition collaboration with Los Angeles-based designer Clare Vivier (who herself is gaining major street cred among style makers such as Cate Blanchett, Katie Holmes and, like, every fashion editor currently working). The collection is comprised of four Italian leather pieces (no word if the leather comes from organic cows) — a nautical clutch, two catch-alls and a tote — that can each be metallically monogrammed in Goop's signature font. Vivier — a former Paris-based style journalist who works out of a Silver Lake studio and is known for her strikingly simple oversized clutches — isn't the only Southern California-based designer taking up e-commerce real estate on Goop. Shoppers can snag jewelry by Sheryl Lowe (wife of Rob) and CFDA Award runner-up Jennifer Meyer (aka Mrs. Tobey Maguire).
Ah, but one place where Paltrow is faltering ever-so-slightly is at the book store, where her recently-released cookbook is coming under fire for meal plans that, with the use of Thomas Keller-blended gluten free flour, duck eggs and $25-a-jar honey, average about $300 a day.
No one's perfect after all.
