Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds Wed on 'The Notebook' Plantation, Photos to Appear in 'Martha Stewart Weddings'
The “Green Lantern” co-stars reportedly chose Charleston, S.C., for their nuptials following a Southern courtship.
There must be something in the air at the Boone Hall Plantation.
The historic Mount Pleasant, S.C., landmark not only appeared in The Notebook, as Rachel McAdams’ childhood summer home, but most recently served as the backdrop for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ top-secret nuptials. And for those who can’t wait to see photos of Lively in her Marchesa gown and custom Louboutins (plus Reynolds donning Burberry), Martha Stewart Weddings will soon oblige.

The mag recently announced that it was Stewart’s team that helped Lively, 25, and Reynolds, 35, plan their special day (with help from planner Tara Guérard of Soiree), with photos from the event to grace its December issue.
“From the heartfelt ceremony to the fun-filled carnival hour and elegant reception, it was a truly enchanted celebration,” the mag states of the Charleston, S.C., event.

And while many were shocked by news of the quiet nuptials, even more were curious about the choice of locale. The magazine notes that Reynolds is a “long-time fan” of the area, with People adding that Southern hospitality has played a key role in the couple’s courtship.
Reportedly, the Green Lantern co-stars have been spotted in the picturesque city on numerous occasions over the past year, including a bed and breakfast stay over last Thanksgiving.
Though the guest list has been mostly kept under wraps (the actress' Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn were reportedly on hand), Lively’s brother opened up to the New York Daily News about the “spectacular” event.
“It was amazing,” Jason Lively said. “I traveled all around the country and rented cars from out of state to keep it under wraps. I think they did a good job. It was spectacular.”
