But Cooper personal appraisal of his looks is on the fence. "I think it's really cool that a guy who doesn't look like a model can have this [title]," says the Hangover actor, 36. "I think I'm a decent-looking guy. Sometimes I can look great, and other times I look horrifying."

And you gotta love a guy who loves his mother. Cooper's dad Charles passed away in January and he's very close with his mom, Gloria. When he was told he'd been crowned Sexiest Man Alive, the "first thing I thought," he says, "was, 'My mother is going to be so happy.'"

Now let's talk about his availability. Dude's totally single. Cooper dated Renée Zellweger for two years until they split in March. He's "friends" with his All About Steve co-star Sandra Bullock. And recently he's been spotted out with Jennifer Lopez. He was also at Leonardo DiCaprio's 36th birthday party this week surrounded by Brazilian Victoria's Secret Models. No sign of Lopez. 

"If you're a single man and you happen to be in this business, you're deemed a player. But I don't see myself as a ladies man," Cooper said.

Cooper is a theatrically trained actor who attended the Actors Studio Drama School in NY, after graduating with honors from his English studies at Georgetown University. He started his acting career while still in school, appearing on Sex and the City, The Street, Jack and Bobby, Kitchen Confidential and Nip/Tuck.
