Cannes 2012: Eva Longoria, Diane Kruger Confirmed for Monaco Gala Benefiting Clinton, Prince Albert Foundations
More entertainment A-lister Cannes Film Fest faces are sure to follow as Monaco heats up for the first inaugural gala benefitting the Clinton and Prince Albert Foundations.
So far, the hottest Cannes Film Festival social event -- a martini shaker of the star-studded worlds of entertainment and politics -- is the inaugural "Nights in Monaco" Gala, to benefit the William J. Clinton Foundation and the Prince Albert II Foundation to be held in Monaco on May 23.
Granted, Monaco is a bit of a hike (around 25 minutes limo drive north of Cannes, less if you take a helicopter) and the event is taking place the night before the amfAR AIDS benefit at the the Hotel du Cap, but it's still a highly prestigious invite.
THR’s Monaco sources reveal that the organizers have received high level confirmations on behalf of both the Clinton and Prince Albert Foundations. But the list is still tres-tres hush-hush. A tip sheet will be released at 11 p.m. PST Tuesday so that European outlets will receive it first thing in the morning.
But there will be no celeb names, just a notice that says once you have been approved to cover the event, an updated tipsheet will be sent early next week. We're betting the poltically active couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will make the cut. And we'd be very surprised if Harvey Weinstein didn't show.
But we’ve already learned on the down low that two top Hollywood actresses/fashion stars, German-born actress Diane Kruger, who is dating American actor Joshua Jackson, and former Desperate Housewives Eva Longoria, also a L’Oreal spokesmodel, will be attending the Monaco bash.
Kruger recently attended the NY Met Gala in a bright purple Prada gown. Today, Diane donned a sexy, backless jumpsuit and carried a fedora as she arrived at the Nice airport, She is a familiar face at the annual fest and for the first time she will serve on the jury alongside The Descendants director Alexander Payne, French designer Jean Paul Gaultier and actor Ewan McGregor.
As for Longoria, she's been making an appearance at Cannes as a L'Oreal Face since 2010, wearing designer gowns on every Croisette red carpet she can. In fact, she's already on her way there and seven hours ago, she Tweeted a photo of herself at the LAX airport, sitting on her luggage with the comment. "On my way to Cannes Film Festival for L'oreal! Too much luggage?"
Never, Eva. Never!
