Christian Louboutin Reimagines Cinderella's Glass Slipper
The shoe designer, whose famed red-soled heels are highly sought after, released his reimagining of the glass slipper from the Disney animated classic.
Instead of glass slippers, Cinderella today would be wearing Christian Louboutin's modern take on the classic princess shoe.
The limited-edition shoe, which boasts the designer's trademark and highly coveted red-soled heels at 120 millimeters (that's almost five inches), is mostly see-through and made from white lace and Swarovski crystals and is highlighted with sparkling butterflies.

The shoes, which Louboutin announced in April, were revealed Wednesday in Paris during Couture Fashion Week at a soiree at the Palais Brongniart and presented alongside images from the making of the original 1950 Disney animated film.
Disney reached out to the designer to reimagine and release the shoe in anticipation of the Diamond Edition release of Cinderella on Blu-ray and DVD in October.

The designer also will act as Prince Charming, anointing one U.S. fan with a free pair of the shoes of which only 20 will be made. Disney and Louboutin will announce more information on the shoe giveaway Aug. 17. No amount of money can buy them, though -- the rest of the pairs are expected to be given away in other countries.
"Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace and fairy tale love but also shoes," the designer said in a statement. "Her character and her story dictated the design to me; it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale."
