Christian Louboutin Opens First Men's Shoe Store in N.Y.'s Meatpacking District
The French shoemaker-to-the-stars men's shop includes a tattoo parlor where inked customers' tats can be embroidered on their shoes. Seriously.
Women who wear Christian Louboutin shoes include Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Victoria Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Mila Kunis, Blake Lively, Kristen Stewart and Kate Moss.
Why should rich beautiful women who love shoes have all the fun. What about rich handsome men who love shoes? Don’t they deserve expensive and distinctive red-soled shoes by Christian Louboutin?
Of course they do.
Which is why Louboutin opened his first men's-only store in the trendy New York Meatpacking District this week.
This is the first of the iconic French shoe designer's three men’s shoe boutiques launching this year. Next up in Louboutin's expansion plan: London and Los Angeles, both locations expected to open their doors in November. And a Chicago unisex store is expected to bow this fall.
The 808 Washington St. boutique is said to have a masculine edge when it comes to decor. And it also features – are you ready? – a tattoo parlor named Mecca, where inked customers can have their body art embroidered on their loafers.
So indescribably decadent, we can’t even breathe.
Louboutin got into the men’s shoe business by accident when he made a pair of loafers for a female customer that was a bit too large for her. She left the loafers with him. A friend swiped them for her husband. And well, eh, voila.
