Cindy Crawford Launches First Clothing Line With German Retailer C&A (Video)
The former '80s supermodel follows in Gisele Bundchen's footsteps, who also appeared in the German retailer's ads in South American and Europe.
What woman over 30 doesn't want to look like Cindy Crawford? C'mon, you know who you are. You are one of us.
You may not be able to have her figure, her hair, her famous beauty spot or even her rich and handsome husband Rande Gerber. But at least now you can dress like her.
The 46-year-old '80s supermodel has collaborated with German retailer C&A on her first clothing collection. It's called, naturally, Cindy Crawford Collection at C&A. The casual apparel line of classics and basics will launch in over 1,500 C&A stores throughout Europe come autumn, but first appearing in C&A's home turf, Germany. The collection includes 31 pieces, priced from $35 and $350.
Crawford’s kept a pretty low profile for several years doing home and furniture collections for J.C.Penney and Raymour & Flanigan. She put her daughter's Versace modeling career on hold earlier this year saying she was "too young." But then she let her model (with Cindy and her mother) in a J.C. Penny Mother's Day ad.
She seems to be back on the mainstream fashion scene and even came back to modeling in May 2011, gracing the cover of Mexican Vogue.
But this is not the first C&A's collab with a famous supermodel. Last year, Gisele Bundchen became the brands biggest booster in Brazilian and even helped with European sales. No wonder they wanted another hot brunette supermodel.
The Dutch textile company founded in 1841, established a retail presence in Germany with its first store, which opened in Berlin in 1911. The retailer expanded its reach in the ‘60s thanks to more shops in Belgium, France, and Switzerland.
C&A closed its shops in the UK in the ‘90s but perhaps Crawford will help restablish the brand’s appeal there.
Worth a shot, right?
