ACM Awards Style Skirmish: Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes Vie for Best Dressed
The Academy of Country Music Awards red carpet continues to become more and more competitive for presenters and nominees.
Country singers LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood and Entertainer of the Year winner Taylor Swift were a triple threat on the red carpet, stealing the fashion show from other women, including big female winner Miranda Lambert.
Rimes wore a quirky sleeveless Stella McCartney red and white “Fitzroy” minidress with revealing mesh insert, all the better to show off that toned body she’s worked so hard for. The dress retails for roughly $1,700 in he US. Rimes even Tweeted out the name of the designer of her gown, worth around $1750 in the US. before she left for the show.
Turns out it’s been a popular choice for fit famous females. Versions of the dress in different hues and different lengths have been worn on carpets by Gwyneth Paltrow, Sports Illustrated cover girl Brooklyn Decker, and Nicole Kidman. Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks and Sienna Miller wore theirs on the cover of Lucky and British Vogue, respectively.
Underwood—who performed during the show -- wore a silky chiffon white strapless and embellished gown by Abed Mahfouz with Oscar de la Renta shoes, Johnathon Amdt jewelry and a swarovski bag.
The youngest of the group, Swift, sporting her new bangs, chose a sleek and sophisticated J. Mendel gown with Christian Louboutin shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. And she walked away with the best accessory of all. Her second Entertainer of the Year award. No small shakes.
So tell us: Who was the best-dressed of the three country music fashion trendsetters?
