Comic-Con 2012: 'Twilight' Star Kristen Stewart Trades Converse For Designer High Tops (Poll)
Forbes' highest paid under-30 actress can afford to buy expensive sneakers -- but her silver and black high tops by French designer Barbara Bui cost $680.
Kristen Stewart has shaken off the fancy stilettos and platform heels that she wore for her Snow White and the Huntsman international premieres and the Cannes screening of her new film, On the Road.

For her appearance at the fan-based 2012 Comic-Con Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 panel in San Diego this week, the actress, 22, wore a cool and casual BCBG Max Azria yellow skirt and a white Fluxus T-shirt.
She also stepped back into her old favorites, a comfy pair of high top sneakers.
But wait. These puppies are a far cry from her old Converse Chuck Taylors. These silver and black sports shoes are from French designer Barbara Bui. And they cost a tad more the classic American version that retail for around $45 on Zappos.
These babies cost (gulp) $680 -- they also come in gold and white -- and are available online and at Bui's Rodeo Drive boutique.
The Paris-born designer, of French and Vietnamese descent, is known for her clean lines and off-beat rock-and-roll femininity. She launched her shoe and bag lines in 2000 and has stores in Paris, New York, Milan and opened in Beverly Hills boutique in 2011.
Now the face of Balenciaga, Stewart's fashion sense has definitely been exposed to more high end clothing and accessories. And considering the fact that A. she gets given a lot of free stuff and B. she can certainly afford to buy these pricier fashions on her own dime, it make sense that she's gone more upscale in her choices.
After all, Forbes just reported that Stewart is currently the highest paid actress under 30 in Hollywood, earning an estimated $34.5 million between May 2011 and May 2012.
Still, we have a feeling there are still a few pairs of Chuck Taylors hiding in Stewart's shoe closet.
