Effortless Cool: Dree Hemingway in Calvin Klein at the 2013 Indie Spirit Awards
The "Starlet" star chose a downtown-worthy Calvin Klein shirtdress to celebrate independent film on Saturday.
The Indie Spirits are all about just that, the spirit. As in, being free to create your art without constraint (or budget). And what's always been cool about this particular awards show -- which has been held in beachy Santa Monica, Calif., since 1984 -- are the avant-garde-slanted clothes that usually come with the artsy, boho actors and filmmakers who attend.
And one 2013 attendee who stayed true to that loose, slightly downtown vibe is actress and model Dree Hemingway, who picked up a Robert Altman ensemble cast award for her work in Starlet at the ceremony on Saturday. The model/actress, who shares her last name with mom Mariel and great-grand-daddy Ernest, looked the part of an indie actress in a movement-heavy printed shirtdress from Calvin Klein's resort 2013 collection.
After all, any good indie outfit needs to come with some angst. And Hemingway's did in an effortless way.
