The big summer blockbusters are rolling out -- the big stars are coming out -- and, of course, where A-list stars go, A-list designer dresses are sure to follow.
Sometimes summer movie premieres bring out rather interchangeable dresses -- spaghetti straps, clingy -- but neither Emma Stone nor Keira Knightley has ever had a generic fashion moment in their well-dressed lives.
At the Moscow premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man, Stone outdid herself and wore an ice blue Emilio Pucci top and pencil skirt, with a sharp Lanvin minaudiere clutch. Against her pale hair and light skin, this pale blue color really pops and is incredibly flattering.
There just simply isn't ever enough pale sky blue on the red carpet. It seems like most actresses are kind of afraid to wear it. It could in fact make one look less than slim -- but of course, not the waif-like Stone.
Well, nothing scares Knightley when it comes to a color, a shape, an ornate gown. This is the woman who put the colorful British designer Mary Katztranzou on the map when she wore her flamboyant print dress to the Venice Film Festival last year.
For the L.A. premiere of Knightley's new movie Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, the actress wore a delicate tan Valentino gown all embroidered with florals in various hues. The choice is an amazing one -- both Valentino's spring 2012 and fall 2012 collections were filled with kind of hand work and detail, and only Sarah Jessica Parker seems to have had the nerve to pull it out. This is a fashion/actress match made in heaven.
