Ryan Murphy: Anna Wintour Is Helping With 'Glee' Guest Star Sarah Jessica Parker's Costumes
The show's co-creator tweeted the news a day after joining Twitter; Parker will play a staffer at Vogue in New York.
A day after joining Twitter, Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy shared a scoop with his followers about Sarah Jessica Parker's upcoming multiepisode arc on the Fox show.
"Guess who's helping us with Sarah Jessica Parker's costumes on GLEE?" he tweeted. "The amazing Anna Wintour!"

Of course, Murphy, who also co-created FX's American Horror Story, is referring to the editor of American Vogue herself, the woman some people say is the most powerful woman in the fashion business.SJP, who will turn up early in season four, will play someone who works at Vogue in New York. Chris Colfer's Kurt Hummel will be making his way, it seems, to the Big Apple.
No wonder Wintour's help is necessary. The Vogue editrix, as she's called, can get her hands on spring 2013 clothes that designers are just assembling now. She can also get any designer in the world -- Karl Lagerfeld, Oscar de la Renta (a friend of SJP's), Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Marc Jacobs -- to make original clothes for Parker.

In fact, we wouldn't be surprised if the clothes weren't sold online very quickly afterward -- whoever creates these clothes should do a short production run of each look and sell it the next day. Sure, the pieces will be fairly high-priced, but there would still be takers. And those in the know have always known that Wintour has a dress code for the ladies working at Vogue: a chic dress, Manolo Blahniks, good jewelry and It handbags. But they wear very little makeup and tend to have loose unkempt hair -- unlike Wintour herself, known for her fierce perennial sharp bob with bangs. It will be interesting to see if Parker resembles a Grace Coddington or an Anna Wintour type.
Is Wintour aiming to become the next Pat Field, the costumer of Sex and the City? Probably not, but the fashionista extraordinaire has her hands in everything. Oh, and did we tell you her daughter Bea Schaffer works for Murphy?Lesley Goldberg contributed to this report.
