It wasn’t long ago that Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was being booted from a Southwest flight for sagging pants and now, he’s an official fashion model.
The band has signed on to be the new face of John Varvatos’ spring campaign and can be seen striking a pose high above the New York City limits, with a little green screen assistance, while donning the designer’s latest rocker-chic duds. Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool now join the ranks of The Roots, Cheap Trick, Iggy Pop and Alice Cooper, who have all previously posed for the menswear line.
For more from the fashion shoot, take a look at the behind-the-scenes video embedded below. The campaign was shot by Danny Clinch and is a far cry from the "Fashion Victim" Green Day sang about on their 2000 album, Warning.
In addition to their new gig as brand ambassadors, the guys of Green Day are currently busy working on a new album and preparing for the film adaptation of their 2004 punk rock opera, American Idiot.
